First impressions are everything I don't think beauty like this exists anywhere else on Earth. The amazing views left us completely in awe for the entire 6 days we were there. First off, Queenstown is the cutest little town I have ever seen. Bars and restaurants as far as we can see! Of course not too far because the centre of the town is only about 3 blocks by 3 blocks, but amazingly there was so much to see! Hike to the top of the hill...I swear it's got to be the size of a mountain! We started off our trip just taking in the beauty of Queenstown. We also spent a morning hiking up Queenstown Hill. I can assure you, it's much bigger than a hill! It was a tough one!!! We spent a few hours at the Kiwi sactuary to see Kiwi's in real life! They were about the size of a chicken, but because they are nocturnal, we weren't able to take pictures. That was really cool to be able to see and learn about the natual wildlife from New Zealand. Later we took the gondola up to luge down one of the moutains. At first, I was a little skeptical, but it turned out to be pretty awesome. Then finished it off with drinks and a view. The Milford Sound - no words needed We took a day trip to Milford Sound. It was the most beautiful sight to see. We went at a beautiful time of the year too since the snow was melting off the moutain tops so it created a bunch of natural waterfalls coming down from the moutains. The majestic mountains protruding from the water was just incredible. The drive to and from was almost just as amazing. We got to see beautiful fields, moutians, rivers, and the amazing nature that surrounds the sound island. Adventuring through 20 minute old water Our final big adventure was the Fun-yak experience. These were basically blow up kayaks. We were taken by bus about 45 minutes north of Queenstown, with a beautiful drive up the lake. We hopped on a jetboat for an hour ride further north. The best part about these jet boats is that they can operate in as low as about 6 inches of water!! It felt as if we were gliding on ice! It was such a fun experience. The boat drivers would get us so close (inches!) to the bridge column or the wall of the river without touching it! I said numerous times 'I know we are about to hit that big tree stump!!' and we never did! Good on ya, Kiwis! The jet boat led us to where our fun-yak adventure began. We were informed first of all that the water we were kayaking in was only about 20 minutes old, as it was coming down from glaciers nearby! I believe it because it was SO COLD! We had a wetsuit, a splash jacket along with about 3 layers of fleece jumpers (jackets) under! First thing we did, was fill up our water bottles from this water! I was skeptical, but it was so good! It tasted perfectly pure. Taking these funyaks down this river was such a fun expierence. It was some of the most beautiful, breathtaking sites. With the snow melting from the moutains and the turquiose colour of the water it was just amazing. Truly, a trip of a lifetime. We will be going back to New Zealand for sure. I hope you all enjoyed our journey, looking forward to hearing about yours!
